This wonderful lamp is absolutely gorgeous. Made with Satin Steel with a Traditional dual pull chain for modern Lighting.

This lamp is NOT WORTH the $$$. We bought lamps at ikea that are better than this!! The base only has metal on the top. Cheap felt-like material is exposed at the bottom of the base, instead of other lamps in which the metal extends down to the very bottom of the base. Also, it took a lot of time tucking the cord underneath to make it stable on the table. It still wobbles!!!

I actually ordered the natural colored lamp. It gives a soft glow. We use it on a timer in the entry way, so it won't be pitch black when we come in. Very lovely!

Verilux Modern Deluxe Full Spectrum Desk Lamp, Brushed Steel

This is a well made lamp with clean design, but the light it emits is most unpleasent to work by, typical of the older fluorescent tubes. It's described as having a "Natural Spectrum Daylight" and with the built in diffuser I had hoped this would finally be the fluorescent I could love, but the light it provides is so harsh I found it distracting. All of us who want to save energy are waiting for the next generation of desk lamps, but this clearly isn't it.


I noticed that being on the north side of my office building my office was dark all the time. I seemed to be slowing down as well. Having used a full spectrum light to solve a similar problem when working from my home office in a dark basement, I decided to try the same in my company office.

My Verilux full spectrum light has done the job quite well. I have only one minor complaint... the light does not pivot on all axis, so I'm not able to position it precisely as I'd like. But I CAN get it pretty close to my desired position, and it does the job well. I find I have more energy and get the job done. My wife complains that I loose track of time and work too late on a regular basis, though my employer certainly is not complaining.


Nice even cool white colored light for reading. Bought it to replace a halogen desk lamp. Instant on, no flicker, cool and glare free. I thought the full spectrum light was a gimmick. It really is easier on the eyes for reading than the halogen. Lamp does get quite warm, but not as hot as halogen.

Solid construction, instant on, no flicker. Clean lines. Substantially better quality than knock off full spectrums selling between $20-50.00.

Replacement bulbs cost 19.95 from verilux, with no shipping charge. They are supposed to last 10,000 hrs. In my experience some CF bulbs last a long time, others only a few months.. so I guess we'll see about this one.

I bought two of these lamps, and they made my bedroom look fantastic. It was wierd that the sticker on one lamp said "use 60 watt bulb", and exactly identical sticker on the other lamp said "use 25 watt sticker". I bought two 15 watt energy saver bulbs that give as much light as 60 watt bulbs, and that solved the problem. Nice and bright! Also lamps arrived way before the estimate delivery date. Very pleased with this purchase.


I bought this product through Amazon rather than directly from the company because I had never done business with the company before. The lamps arrived very promptly, well packaged and easy easy to assemble. I am very satisfied with the product and would recommend it to others as long as the buyer realizes you can only use a 25 watt bulb. You probably can read by it but it makes an excellent mood/accessory lamp.


This is a very nice lamp for mood lighting in a bedroom or as an accent. It is easy to assemble and well made for the price. The finish is not shiny or of very high quality, but it is very rugged and I'm pleased with my purchase. The company also delivered it quickly and it was packaged well.


This is a very pretty addition to any Asian-themed room. I love it, but do have a couple of comments. It can only hold a 25 watt bulb, which means it does not produce much light. Also, thought you cannot see it in the picture displayed, the cord hangs down from the middle of the lantern, which kind of detracts from the overall appearance, although not enough to keep me from buying another one. I would recommend this lamp as long as you buy it with these things in mind.

I ordered two lamps for my bedroom. With pillow-top beds being so tall, it's important for me to have tall lamps. These are perfect. Some things you might want to know:

The shade for the "bronze" lamp is a bamboo color, not really a light beige. I happen to love this. When the lamp is on, the lamp shade glows, hilighting the woven detail.

The base is very dark - it appears more black than brown.

Contrary to the description, there is only one pull chain. (The picture is accurate.) When you pull the chain, both bulbs are on - it is not a "three-way" lamp. This is my only complaint and is the reason for listing this with 4 stars instead of 5.

My lamps shipped with lots of packaging and arrived in excellent condition. Assembly was easy, requiring no tools. Be careful when removing the celophane around the shade - any imperfections in the shade are very visible when the lamp is on.

I am considering purchasing the same lamps for my living room! The price ($69) was very reasonable for this lamp.


When searching for lamps, I needed to know the height, width etc. This lamp was exactly as described. One thing however, that I had not taken into consideration was the size of the base in proportion to the size of the bedside table. This lamp(bought 2) did not work for the tables we had but did on other tables. I especially like the ease of the pull down chain and the 3-way light. In addition, the lamp is not top heavy but the poles and base are! Exactly what we wanted.

Remember the light bulbs are not included and the lamp needs some assembly.
